A little more about Bobby Worrest

I hadn’t planed to interview Bobby Worrest for two reasons. First, getting a chat with Bobby should be more prolific while having a drink somewhere with him than writing to him. Second, I didn’t get the chance to have a drink with him in the last couple of weeks (actually I’ve never).
However, I recently watched again his part in Get Familiar again and I just realized it never get old, especially the last line at Pulaski. Then I watched his part in Krooked “Naughty” again, and I thought the same…
So, I thought it was worth the try to send him some questions and this is how it turned :
Je n’avais pas prévu de réaliser l’interview de Bobby Worrest, cela pour deux raisons. La première, obtenir une vraie discussion avec Bobby doit être plus efficasse en buvant un verre avec lui qu’en lui écrivant. La deuxième, je n’ai pas eu l’occasion de boire un verres avec lui lors des quelques dernières semaines (à vrai dire, je n’ai jamais eu cette occasion).
Pourtant, j’ai regardé sa part dans Get Familiar récemment et j’ai réalisé que ça n’avait pas vieilli du tout, particulièrement la dernière line à Pulsaki. Puis je revu sa part dans la “Naughty” et j’ai pensé la même chose…
J’ai donc pensé qu’il valait la peine de lui envoyé quelques questions quand même, et voilà ce que cela a donné :

Have you always lived  in (or near) Washington DC ?
I was born in Pennsylvania and we moved outside of DC to Maryland in 1999.
Tu as toujours vévu dans le région de Washington DC ?
Je suis né en Pennsylvanie et on a déménagé dans la Maryland en 1999.

Did you skate on the 09/11 ? How have you been through that day  ?
I remember getting out of school early. And yes we went skating but didnt go downtown
As tu skaté durant la journée du 11/09 ? Comment as tu vécu cette journée ?
Je me souviens avoir quitté l’école plus tôt ce jour là. Oui on est allé skaté mais on est pas allé au centre ville.

How was dealing with the end of ès ? How this was stressful ?
It sucks to see a company like that go out of business.  Hasn’t really been stressful, I’m still skating all the time.  Not going on trips with the whole crew is a bummer
Comment as tu géré la disparition d’és ? Ca a été stressant ?
Ca craint quand une company comme ça disparraît. Ca n’a pas été trop stressant, je skate toujours tout le temps. Ne plus partir en trip avec toute la bande est déprimant.

(If you can reveal it…) Are you about to sign a new contract  ?  Which company ?
Gotta keep that one under wraps
Es tu sur le point de signer un nouveau contrat ?
Je garde ça en secret

Do you still hunt ? What animal do you usually hunt ? Do you have  any trophy hunt in your house ?
We went deer hunting last year, I didn’t get to go this season.
Vas tu toujours à la chasse ?
On y est beaucoup allé l’année dernière. Je n’ai pas eu l’occasion d’y aller cette saison.

You’ve been riding for Krooked for a while, what’s the best things about this company and could you tell a few words about your best memories being on tour with those guys ? 
The best trip ever was my first trip to Japan.  It was a Krooked guest trip.  There was myself, van dan and mark along with 10 veteran pros.  It was super sick.  Krooked is awesome because I feel as though any of the riders can skate what they want without having to fit into a certain niche.
Tu skate pour Krooked depuis un moment, quel est le meilleur côté de cette marque and as tu un souvenir marquant d’un tour avec eux ?
Le meilleur trip était le premier au Japon. C’était un “guest trip”. Y’avait moi, Dan, Van et Mark accompagné par 10 pros vétérans. C’était vraiment cool. Krooked est génial car je pense que tous les riders peuvent skater ce qu’ils veulent sans devoir s’adapter à une certaine catégorie.

What is the craziest trick or line you’ve seen there ?
Johnny Layton ollied over both walls there. That’s pretty badass

Johnny Layton a passé les deux murs en ollie. C’est débile.

How’s the Maryland is different from the rest of the USA (at least for you) ?
Maryland is cool. I wouldn’t say there is anything special in particular.

Le Maryland est cool. Je ne pourrais pas dire qu’il y a quelques chose de particulier.

Do you regret any of your tatoos ? Getting a new tattoo is something you look ahead or do you decide it day to day ?
Na. I don’t regret any of my tattoos.  I’ve gotten random ones and I’ve also thought about a few.
Regrettes tu certains de tes tatouages ? Est ce que tu anticipes ou tu te décide au jour le jour ?
Non je ne regrette aucun de mes tatoutages. J’en ai quelque uns faits au hasard et d’autre auxquels je pensais déjà.
