3 Video parts of all time : This is the hardest question for any skateboarder to answer, but as of right now these are the three that come to mind. Dill Photosynthesis first part that made me realize there’s a lot more to skating than just tricks. Mike Carroll Modus Operandi one of the best styles ever plus the night lines at the SF library might still be the best lines ever filmed to this day Danny Renaud Mosaic best debut part in skateboarding history. Best trick and spot selection I’ve ever seen. Not to mention Castrucci’s use of Cymande’s “Crawshay” put it over the top.
Question difficile pour tout skater, mais voici celles qui me viennent à l’esprit là : Dill dans Photosynthesis, le première part qui m’a fait prendre conscience que dans le skate il n’y a plus que juste des tricks. Mike Carroll dans Modus Operandi, un des meilleurs style de toujours, avec en plus la line filmée à la bibliothèque de SF de nuit, qui doit toujours être la meilleure jamais filmée. 
Danny Renaud Mozaic, meilleure première part de l’histoire. Meilleur choix de tricks et de spot. Sans oublier l’utilisation du titre “Crashway” de Cymande qui la place au top.

The Boardslides to manny, frontside and backside in Static 3. The first time I saw the spot I instantly knew what I was going to do. I also knew they were gonna go hand in hand, I couldn’t do one without the other. I got the backside one first, which was actually harder since the rail was further from the ledge. I went back the next day for the frontside one I also intentionally wore the same shirt cause I wanted it to look cohesive almost like two tricks in one.

Backside 180 nosegrind shuv out in Boston at the Charles River benches. I had never really seen anyone do that trick at the time. I also had never even done one, so that one on film is the first and last time I ever did that trick. That’s happened to me a few times where you film a trick you’ve never done, that’s the best feeling when a skate spot brings a new trick out of you.

Downhill line to front board up the handrail in my hometown of Lakeland which was in Traffic’s Via. I always knew I wanted to do a line there so finally getting it felt amazing, plus the spot is completely gone now. It also was the first thing I ever filmed with Josh Stewart, so I was kind of nervous since he drove all the way out just to film me. Which also helped me land it faster, because I felt like I was wasting his time if I didn’t do it right away.

Le boardslide to manual, frontside et backside dans la Static 3. La première fois que j’ai vu le spot, j’ai tout de suite su que j’allais le faire. J’ai su aussi que l’un allait avec l’autre et que je devais faire les deux. J’ai fait le backside en premier, qui en fait était plus difficile car le rail est plus éloigné du mur. Je suis revenu le lendemain pour faire le frontside et j’ai mis le même tshirt exprès car je voulais que cela soit lié en deux tricks en un.

Backside 180 nosegrind shuv out à Boston sur les Banc de Charles River. Je n’avais jamais vu quelqu’un faire ce trick avant. Je ne l’avais jamais rentré non plus, ce fut donc le premier et le dernier que j’ai fait. Cela m’est arrivé à plusieurs reprises quand tu film un trick que tu n’as jamais fait, c’est la meilleur sensation quand le spot t’amène un trick.

Le downhilll line to front board en montant le handrail là où j’habite Lakeland, c’était dans la Traffic Via. J’ai toujours voulu faire une line là-bas et quand je l’ai finalement rentrée j’était trop content. En plus le spot est mort maintenant. C’est les premières images que j’ai filmées avec Josh Stewart, j’étais un peu nerveux car il avait fait tout le chemin pour venir me filmer. Ça m’a aidé à le rentrer plus rapidement car je sentais que je lui faisais perdre son temps si je n’y arrivais pas.

M’exploser le genoux quand j’avais 15 ans, me plier la cheville quelques heures après avoir atterri à SF, m’assommer le première fois que je skatais le skate park de Tampa, je ne me rappelle de rien, juste que j’ai perdu connaissance un moment.

Danny Renaud got an interview recently, and seems to be back on his board. Have you seen him skate recently ?
Yeah, whenever Danny’s in Florida we always meet up and hang out. He’s definitely back on the board and killing it. He beat me in SKATE the other day on a sw front heel.

Oui, à chaque fois que Danny vient en Floride, on trâine ensemble. Il s’est vraiment remis au skate et défonce. Il m’a battu en SKATE avec un switch front hell l’autre jour.

You’ve been riding for Traffic for a while, how have you been hooked up by them ?
It’s been so long I’m not even sure how it came about. I’m pretty sure Josh Stewart sent him my footage that was in Static 2 and was like you need to check this kid out. A few days later Ricky Oyola called me and I’ve been repping Traffic ever since.
Tu skate pour Traffic depuis un moment, comment t’es rentré chez eux ?
Ça fait tellement longtemps que je ne suis pas sûre de me rappeler. Je suis presque sûr que Josh Stewart à envoyé des images qui étaient dans Static 2 et leur a dit de jeter un oeil sur ce gamin. Quelques jours plus tard, Ricky Oyola m’ a appelé et j’ai toujours skaté pour Traffic depuis ça.

So, Static 4 is not a “myth” and is coming for real one day. Do you know how long have we got to wait till it’s out ? Can we expect a full part of you ?
All I can say is it will be out this year….possibly. No full part but def gonna have a lil somethin’ Let’s just keep it a myth
Donc, Static 4 n’est pas un mythe et va exister pour de vrai un jour ou l’autre. Tu sais quand ça sort ? Tu va avoir une part ?
Tout ce que je peut dire est que ça sort cette année… peut-être. Par de full part pour moi mais de sûr quelque chose. Gardons ça comme un mythe !

You were in SouthAfrica recently, what was it for ?
I’ve been fortunate enough to start working and traveling with the Skateparkoftampa guys. I help produce and edit their show “SpotLife” on the Ride Channel. It’s been an awesome adventure and can’t wait for the future.
T’était en Afrique du Sud récemment, c’était pour quoi ?
J’ai la chance d’avoir commencé à travailler avec les gars de SkateParkOfTampa. J’aide à produire et éditer pour leur show “SpotLife” sur Ridechannel. C’était une super aventure et j’attends la prochaine avec impatience.

How does it feel, riding for one of your heros Ricky Oyola?
He’s been a huge influence on the way I view skateboarding in general. To have someone you looked up to as a kid appreciate your skateboarding is an honor.

Il a été d’un grande influence sur ma vision du skate en général. Avoir quelqu’un dont tu t’inspire qui apprécie la façon dont tu skate est un honneur.

What’s the difference, filming with Josh Stewart compared to other filmmakers ?
For me it’s a huge difference going from Josh to someone else. Mainly just because we’ve worked together for so long we already are on the same page and I don’t have to tell him where to be at what point. I tend to talk a lot when trying something difficult, so much that I almost talk myself out of getting the trick. He’s good at diffusing my brain and getting me back to sanity so I can land my trick.
Qu’est ce que filmer avec Josh Stewart a de particulier ?
Pour moi c’est très différent  J’ai filmé avec lui depuis tellement longtemps qu’on a plus à ce dire où l’on doit être et quand, on est sur la même longueur d’onde. J’ai tendance à parler beaucoup quand j’essaie quelque chose de difficile, tellement que je me dit que je je ne vais pas réussir  Il est assez bon pour me recadrer et me reconcentrer pour que j’arrive à réussir.

Yeah, it’s just a fun site to post things I think our cool, I’ve been slowing down lately and have started a new site called LavarBurton.com and hopefully will have some t-shirts too.

Oui, c’est juste un site marrant ou je poste ce que je trouve cool, je suis moins dessus en ce moment et j’ai commencé un nouveau site LavarBurton.com. J’espère que des Tshirt vont sortir.

Who are the best skateboarders wearing glasses ? Qui sont les mailleurs skaters qui portent des lunettes ?
Steve Olson, Jack Sabback, and Cairo Foster used to rock some glasses

Have you ever been in Europe ? (if not) where would you’d like visit for skating or not ?
I’ve been to London, but It’s been awhile I need to get back over there, and by “there” I mean everywhere I want to visit it all.
T’es déjà venu en Europe ? Qu’est ce que tu voudrais visité si tu viens ?
Je suis venu à Londres mais c’était il y a longtemps, j’ai envie de revenir, et j’aimerais tout visiter !

How often do you speak or meet Ricky Oyola ? How is he as a “boss” ?
Ricky is the best whatever you need he handles it. Plus he has the best stories I’ve ever heard.
Tu parle souvent à Ricky Oyola ? Comment est il en tant que “patron” ?
Ricky est le meilleur, peut importe ce dont tu as besoin, il s’en occupe. En plus il a les meilleures histoires que j’ai entendu.

Wich aspect of skateboarding do you enjoy the most (except the classics : Traveling and meeting people) ?
The best part about skateboarding is just the freedom of being able to create whatever you want just with you and your board.
Quel le côté du skate que tu apprécies le plus ? (à part classiquement voyager et rencontrer des gens) ?
Le meilleur trucs c’est de pouvoir être créatif juste toi et ta board.
